Our Current Feature Artist is: PEDRO HERRERA

Born 1956, Carchi, Ecuador, Pedro Herrera of Ecuador's most spectacular artists. He has been actively involved in many fields of artistic endeavour, working as a press photographer, documentalist, journalist, author, museum director and member of various artistic organisations. Most important, however, have been his surrealist photographic works.

Herrera has exhibited internationally (chiefly in Spain & USA) where his confronting, yet liberating style has been widely acclaimed. Herrera's art can be better understood as a way of releasing our imagination in the most intense way possible.

He appeals to our subconscious mind by arranging elements which are not rationally related in any way. Exactly as occurs in the world of dreams.

Pedro Herrera is unafraid of his subconscious and indirectly asks the viewer, can the same be said of you?
